Allie’s work focuses on developing sustainable, embedded models of student support that strengthen belonging, improve retention, and ensure parity of access for learners studying both online and in rural or island communities.
Allie contributes at sector level across the UK through her chair positions on national networks; the BACP Heads of University Counselling Services (HUCS) SIG, The Mental Wellbeing in Higher Education (MWBHE) Group and The College Counselling Network Scotland. With a particular focus on upstream prevention, compassionate policy design, and trauma-informed organisational culture.
Bringing a background in counselling, supervision and service leadership, Allie’s work integrates pluralistic, relationship-centred therapeutic practice with strategic change and system design. She is especially interested in how institutions create environments of real care and how policy, pedagogy, and student support models interconnect to create a sense of belonging for students.
