Dr Maeve O’Dwyer, SFHEA, is an Academic Developer with the Teaching Enhancement Unit at DCU. She leads on DCU’s Supported Journey to Fellowship of AdvanceHE, in collaboration with Clare Gormley, Senior Academic Developer. They are actively researching the impact of their work on Fellowship at DCU, with ethical approval. Maeve has previously led the design and accreditation of routes to Fellowship at the University of Lincoln, UK, and is External Examiner for routes to Fellowship at Buckinghamshire New University, UK, including the PG Certificate in Academic Practice and the Teaching and Supporting Learning in HE programmes.
Maeve is passionate about the benefits of Fellowship for all, and in particular, the impact of supporting third space professionals and PhD students to achieve recognition of their practice. She co-founded a research group and is co-Editor of a forthcoming Special Issue of Perspectives: Policy and Practice in Higher Education, focused on third space. Maeve lectures part-time, with research interests in third space, entrepreneurial education, scholarship of teaching and learning, and history of art, and is happy to be contacted in relation to collaboration and/or research.
