Dr Sreethi Nair is the Dean of the College of Arts, Education & Social Sciences (CAESS) at Abu Dhabi University (ADU). With a focus on expanding academic offerings, she ensures alignment with ADU’s strategic goals, including enhancing global visibility and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration in fields like media studies, social sciences, and education. A champion of diversity, she drives recruitment efforts and strengthens industry partnerships, positioning the college as a leader in addressing global societal challenges. By nurturing academic collaborations and fostering community engagement, Dr Nair helps ADU elevate its reputation and contribute to both regional and international educational development. She works towards the enhancement of Student Success, First Year Experience, Future Work Skills competencies, and Academic Support offered by CAESS at Abu Dhabi University. She believes that it is essential to help students develop knowledge, skills and competence in various aspects of education to be able to adapt to various educational and future work environments and life. She adheres to the fact that the success of students is highly correlated to faculty development, thus works towards faculty support and professional development in teaching & learning.
Dr Sreethi Nair completed her PhD in 2002 at the University of Kerala, India, in Psychology, with a focus on students’ academic habits, procrastination behaviour, and study skills. She also received her master’s and bachelor’s degrees in psychology from the University of Kerala. She believes that Learning and Professional Development is a never-ending process. She has done many development programs; key among them are the Management Development Program- 2015 and Building Inner Strength -2015 conducted by Harvard School of Graduate Studies, Harvard University, Boston, USA. Her strategic excellence in teaching and learning in higher education led her to achieve the PFHEA (Principal Fellowship from Advance HE) in July 2023.
Dr Nair’s area of expertise is Educational Psychology and the skill development for students for future careers and life. She believes and practices varying techniques that support students to identify and develop their own profile for the future; thus, her interest is in curricula development and teaching & learning practices that support students holistically. In addition, she is a continuous learner who thrives on adding more skill sets for her personal and professional growth. This nature of hers made her an internationally accredited certified life coach and a six-way meditation trainer (2024).
Before joining Abu Dhabi University, Dr Nair worked in India as a faculty member of psychology in the Teacher’s Training College. She also worked as the Consultant Psychologist for various higher education institutions in Kerala, India
