Professor Fiona Naumann is an Associate Dean of Education, Faculty of Health, at Southern Cross University. At SCU Fiona provides both academic and strategic leadership across all Health courses, aligned to the University vision.
She was awarded a PhD in the area of Exercise Physiology, from the University of Melbourne, 1997. She subsequently attained additional qualifications in Teaching and Learning including a Masters of Philosophy in Higher Education (MPhil) and a Graduate Certificate of University Learning & Teaching (GCULT), from the UNSW Australia. Fiona also holds the prestigious title of Principal Fellow of the Advance Higher Education, previously Higher Education Academy (HEA).
In 2015, Fiona’s contributions to the profession of Clinical Exercise Physiology was recognised in a Professional Fellowship with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) and was the recipient of the Australian Awards for University Teaching, 2017. The citation was for sustained leadership in transitioning exercise physiology towards competency-based education through curriculum innovation, scholarly inquiry, and strategic collaborations with the profession and universities. In 2017, I was also appointed chair of the Exercise and Sports Science Accreditation Council, to provide strategic leadership for all courses nationally.
Fiona’s current teaching and learning scholarship is based around digital teaching and learning transformation, interprofessional Education (IPE) and Interprofessional Practice.
