Professor Karen Cox

Karen joined the University of Kent in August 2017 as Vice-Chancellor and President. Prior to this she was Deputy Vice Chancellor at the University of Nottingham. A Professor of Cancer and Palliative Care and a Registered Nurse Karen has a professional background in healthcare delivery, regulation, research and education. Karen is a board member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council, the UK regulator of over 750,000 Nurses, Midwives and Nursing Associates, an Associate Non-Executive Director of Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust and a Director of the SE Local Enterprise Partnership. She is also a Director of the Universities and Colleges Employers Association and was elected to the Universities UK Board for a 3 year term from August 2022.
