About
Laura Sharp is Professor of Pedagogy in the School of Health and Wellbeing, College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences at the University of Glasgow and a Principal Fellow of Advance HE. She leads teaching and learning enhancement with a focus on student-centred, equitable, and inclusive education. Her team works in a continuous cycle of improvement, developing innovations in blended learning, academic integrity, flipped classrooms, employability, authentic assessment, augmented reality, gamification, self-care, EDI, and decolonisation.
With a strong emphasis on student voice, Laura’s work is informed by her experience leading qualitative and quantitative research projects across a wide range of health and wellbeing topics—including infant feeding, child growth, parenting, HIV stigma, female safety on public transport, and suicide prevention. She has also contributed to national audits and policy reviews in areas such as postnatal depression, education reform, and social security. Her engagement with underrepresented and hard-to-reach groups has deepened her understanding of belonging and inclusion, shaping her ability to collaborate meaningfully with learners from diverse backgrounds.
