Pamela Gillies, CBE FRSE, is a Professor Emerita in Public Health and a former Vice Chancellor of Glasgow Caledonian University, a role she held for seventeen years. She has served on many Boards including amongst others the British Council and RFK UK Human Rights and currently Chairs the Board of the Circle. This charity, founded by Annie Lennox, seeks to reduce gender based violence against women and girls, promote global feminism and women’s educational and economic opportunities around the world. Pamela also serves on the Boards of the European Women Rectors Association and the National University of Science and Technology in Oman. She is a member of the Rector’s Strategic Advisory Group for the Universiade Catolica Portuguesa and led the investigation commissioned by the Scottish Funding Council into the financial collapse of Dundee University.
