Prior to this, Ruth was Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor (Teaching, Learning & Academic Governance) and Dean of Learning Enhancement & Innovation at the University of Derby, where she held strategic responsibility for leading learning & teaching, technology-enhanced learning, quality assurance & enhancement, and library & learner support across the University.
Qualified as a Biologist, Ruth is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology and worked for a number of years as a Senior Lecturer in Environmental Sciences, before moving to senior, strategic posts in Academic Practice at the Universities of Warwick and Salford.
Ruth has a particular interest in learning spaces and student co-creation.
